The History of Partners in Prime transportation
Partners in Prime transportation, formerly ARK, began in 1972. It was first designed and operated by volunteers from a group of churches in Hamilton. It was originally named after Noah’s Ark. When the service began, the volunteers transported people in their personal cars to medical appointments. Expansion occurred slowly adding first a passenger van and then a lift van. Transportation then happened for visits other than medical. In 1983, ARK was added to the SCI family. Today Partners in Prime transportation has 5 vans plus 1 station wagon serving southern Butler County and makes over 20,000 trips per year.
Partners in Prime transportation Service
The Partners in Prime transportation Service office operates from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm with rides scheduled between those times. This service is designed to provide transportation to anyone 60 years of age or older who do not have other transportation. We require advanced scheduling. Scheduling is based on priority for health related travel, shopping (groceries/ prescriptions) and to participate in the congregate lunch program at Partners in Prime.
